Murrumbeena House: A new look homestead style
Around the River Red Gum Tree

This was an exciting opportunity to place two double storey townhouses on a long thin corner block. A magnificent remnant vegetation River Red Gum tree in the middle of the site had to be retained, as did a mature oak in the nature strip. The houses have become an iconic benchmark for the area, demonstrating that significant vegetation does not always need to be a victim of higher density developments.

In this instance we worked with the location of the trees to influence our strategic approach to developing the site. The colouration of the Red Gum inspired the palette for the external colours and finishes of the houses.
